Genus Ulorhinus Sharp, 1891

bilineatus (Germar, 1819)Upper surface dark brown. Antennae and legs paler reddish-brown. The pale, golden-yellow hair is denser particularly on the rostrum and frons and towards the front edge of the pronotum. Behind the transverse ridge on the pronotum there are three pale markings, the lateral ones are close to the sides. Intervals of the elytra not straight, particularly the third, fifth and seventh and are striped alternately pale and dark. Tibiae twice sinuate.Tarsi uniformly brown. Antennae short and not extending beyond the middle of the pronotum in either sex. Length 4-5 mm. May to June. Larvae develop in dead deciduous wood. In Central Europe mostly in scrub and small woodland. Adults are often found under loose pieces of bark on sticks or fallen branches. Southern Europe northwards to the Vienna basin and northern Italy.
