Apeltarius (Caldara, 1978)Outer margin of tibia prominent at apex. Rostrum, in lateral view, cylindrical to apex, usually slightly sinuous at base along upper margin. Body robust and large. Prothorax often strongly narrowed at apex, transverse, about as wide as elytra, which are short, heart-shaped, convex, with odd elytral interspaces completely or partly covered with pale scales. South-Mediterranean Region. Subgenus.
→ 1a-Outer margin of tibia rounded to straight at apex. Above-mentioned characters not contemporaneously present. Subgenus Tychius.
